After we watched this, Lauren was cuddled up on the couch with her iPhone, and she wouldn't let me know what she was doing. I eventually found out she was signing up for Twitter!!! Now I'm tempted to do it even though it looks stupid. I generally try to stay away from this "social networking" crap, and I especially don't like that Twitter encourages you to type like a moron with the 140 character limit. "OMG U USE TWITR 2?"

However, the fact that Twitter is being used by people in Iran to communicate details of the unrest in the country and stuff like that makes me think it could be a positive thing. And even though it's a proprietary service, at least some of the system is open-source.

I'm conflicted. Should I give up my principles and join Twitter because it might be slightly amusing, or stay strong?
